Foods that Detoxify

Sure, eating unprocessed foods will make a huge difference in the way you look and feel (the more "junk" that is present - the more work your body has to do to process it). But making the switch isn't easy. Its more like a journey. And I'm at the beginning.

So far these are my favorites:

Almonds also help reduce cholesterol levels.

Apples contain pectin, a soluble fiber that helps remove food additives and metals from your system. Almonds contain a protein that removes impurities from the bowels. Avocados block carcinogens from the liver while detoxifying it. Bananas and coconut water are high in potassium - a nutrient that will help you feel better fast.
Lemons are a convienent and inexpensive way to help rid your body of excess toxins.

Lemon contain high amounts of vitamin C and other antioxidants that help fight the effects of cell damage. Adding lemons to your diet can also improve your complexion. * * * * * TRY THIS! Squeeze the juice of 1/2 of a lemon into a glass of warm water when you wake up. It'll do wonders for your liver and brighten your skin. Wanna take it a step further? Add a pinch of  non-irrated cayenne pepper. It'll increase the temperature of your body which will help to kick-start your metabolism. * * * * *       Hungover? When you drink, the alcohol clings to water molecules already present in your system.  The more water you drink, the quicker the alcohol can be flushed out. Some foods can speed up the process. Foods high in antioxidants will help to detoxify your liver. They keep your cells (and therefore organs) healthy. Foods high in potassium will help your feel better fast.
